Coming up: EIN.KÜCHEN.BAU at SOHO Biennale (Vienna) and R.I.P. SERVICES at URB 16 Festival (Helsinki)!!

After a busy period in Helsinki – performances of I BLAME YOU, TONY BLAIR! at Kiasma-teatteri/Finnish National Gallery, teaching at the University of Helsinki, and PhD detail work – we are back in Vienna, preparing for the summer:

4-18 June 2016: EIN.KÜCHEN.BAU will be presented as an installation version at the SOHO Ottakring Biennale in Vienna!!
Besides the walk-in installation, there will be free-access lectures on the history of fitted kitchens, architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, and the relations between architecture, power and urban life. At the SOHO Ottakring Biennale, EIN.KÜCHEN.BAU will be presented in cooperation with Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky Club. 4-7 August 2016: Our new site-specific performance/installation project R.I.P. SERVICES with the onemorequestion collective will premiere at URB 16 Festival, organised by Kiasma Theatre/Finnish National Gallery — stay tuned, festival info to be published soon!!


About Joonas Lahtinen

Joonas Lahtinen (* 1984, FIN/A) is a performance artist, director and researcher who lives and works in Vienna and Helsinki. His performances are often site-specific and have a strong installational character. In his works, he explores the politics of space and of the everyday from perspectives that are both humorous and disturbing. Joonas has studied Performance at Queen Mary, University of London and he is writing a PhD thesis about the problematic of “emancipatory” participative art at the University of Helsinki. Since 1995, he has performed in various Live Art, theatre and TV productions both in Finland and abroad.
